JCrypt is a framework for developing cryptological and cryptographical programs.
The Main screen is divided into two areas. The areas are separated by a bar that can be dragged to adjust the sizes of the areas. The top area can be typed into, and is called the input pane. The bottom area cannot be edited, and is called the output pane.
The Main screen also has a menu bar. The File menu allows you to load and save text files into the input pane. The Tools menu lets you do things to the text in the input pane, and the Help menu gets you here.
Informational plugins exist to display information about the input. There are three official informational plugins: Frequency Count, N-Gram Finder, and Dot Product.
- Frequency Count: This plugin counts the frequencies of the letters in your input
- N-Gram Finder: Finds all the N-Grams and their positions
- Dot Product: Tells you how much this Caesar shift cipher was shifted.
